Ingredients
- 2 tsp yeast
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 3 cups (420g) high-grade white flour
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Toppings
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- Coarse rock or flaky salt
- Rosemary (optional)
- Sliced olives (optional)
Method
- Combine the bread ingredients in a bowl.
- Knead on a flat surface for 3-5mins.
- Put back in bowl with oil coating the dough ball to stop it sticking, cover with tea towel, and place in a warm spot in the house for 45-60mins to rise.
- After it’s doubled in size, or at least grown significantly, knead again for 3-5 mins.
- Tuck the bottom edges under as you make it into a loaf shape. Set on lightly oiled baking paper in a warm place to rise again for 30-45mins.
- Bake at 225 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown top and bottom.
